At the absolute peak of Nike SB Dunk madness came Diamond Supply Co.’s collaboration, hitting skateshops in August of 2005 and garnering massive line-ups. Designed after a world renowned purveyor of precious jewelry, the Diamond Dunk, in its black reptile, aqua, and silver glory was one of the most sought after shoes on the market. It helped further catapult the California-based skate brand into world prominence, while that colorway became one of the most mimicked in history. The brand’s founder Nicky Diamonds took to Instagram to reveal a rather suggestive photo of another iteration of the Dunk, and although at first glance the shoes appear like the classics he created over a decade ago, the shifted color-blocking proves that these is indeed distinct from the first. Will these “Black Diamond” Dunks ever release? Stay tuned.
