For a brief period of time, the Nike umbrella was a bit heavy-handed with their use of animal prints and patterns, the brand even going as far to offer Air Jordan 3s inspired only by the eccentric subset of design. And though its use did slow down for a bit, it’s possible that this leopard-marked Air Max 97 will ring in the motif’s return.

Here, the tooling seems to be the only fixture bereft of the focal treatment. White midsoles and cream treads ground in expected standards, while the rest of the upper subverts in all-over graphics. The animal’s signature pelt is sublimated fully onto the tanned suedes at the mudguard, slightly contrasting that of the mesh underneath, a layer whose markings are executed light and partially faded. This extends over to the tongue as well whose embroidered check above matches the one at the lining in its orange shade.

In other news, the Curry Flow 8 Be Like Water is coming through this week.
