The purveyors of country club cool at Sporty & Rich are reconvening with adidas for another sneaker capsule. On top of the two adidas Adizero Adios colorways previewed the other day, Emily Oberg’s trendy athleisure brand is also touching up the 1970s-inspired adidas Blanc.
The adidas Blanc isn’t an archival model, but rather a modern re-interpretation of the adidas Diamant. It’s got a low, curved collar and many long-established adidas design cues; serrated stripes, herringbone tread, a slim toe cap – you get the gist. Considering Sporty & Rich is largely rooted in preppy 70s and 80s fashion aesthetics, they’re an obvious choice for the model’s first ever collaboration.
Sporty & Rich has two women’s colorways set to release May 30th, both of which play off the iconic adidas Stan Smith in white/green. One features a leather base and green suede on the stripes/backtab, while the other essentially inverts the two materials. Sporty & Rich text runs alongside the stripes, complemented by green co-branding on the tongue.
The next Sporty & Rich x adidas capsule releases through CONFIRMED on May 30th, including the two adidas Blanc colorways and aforementioned Adizero Adios. The adidas Blancs will be available exclusively in women’s sizing for $140 a pop.
