Andrew Rizzo Updated October 6th, 2025: New retailer images of the Grateful Dead x Oregon Ducks x Nike Air Max 90 have just surfaced, providing additional insight into the tie-dye soaked and overall vibrant arrangement of the shoe. Further, we get a look at an all-new back tab, revamping the “Stealie” skull logo in collegiate green and red, and a pre-distressed outsole that leans into the vintage air that soaks this shoe overall.
Lastly, the fact that these images derive from a retailer source is a tacit confirmation that these won’t be exclusive to Bodega, the outlet that provided us our first look. A wide launch is expected on October 24th, aligning with the “Grateful Dead” theme of the Ducks’ October 25th game. Check out all these shots included below.

In one of the more unexpected collaborations we’ve seen, The Grateful Dead and the Oregon Ducks have come together for a three-way project on the Nike Air Max 90.
Unveiled here by Bodega, the sneaker features a colorful tie-dye mudguard and Swoosh reminiscent of the Grateful Dead SB Dunks from 2020. In our eyes, the highlight is the hangtag, which swaps The Grateful Dead’s iconic hand-holding bears for ducks — a clever nod to Oregon. The mudguard window, tongue, and outsole further align with the university through alternating light green and yellow hits, while white mesh and suede with rainbow contrast stitching rounds out the rest of the design.
These are two names we’ve seen collaborate with Nike on their own before — but together? That’s pretty intriguing, to say the least. As for why this exists, The Grateful Dead has performed at the University of Oregon more than 20 times throughout its storied history, which has inspired Oregon to host a “Grateful Ducks” football game on October 25th in honor of the band, calling for a “tie-dye out” at Autzen Stadium by fans.
Bodega posted on IG that the sneaker is available now at their Los Angeles store, but that post has since been deleted. The sneaker was also up online for a short amount of time. A larger release is expected to occur on October 24th – one day before the “Grateful Ducks” game – but no official announcement has been made as of this writing.
