This year, New Balance released their latest 1300JP style, a once-ever-five-years drop made from elevated materials and constructed by hand in their Made facilities. Now, the 1300 has surfaced in a Made in USA navy blue style, coming soon.
The 1300 from New Balance was originally released in 1985, and encapsulated everything excellent about the ’80s running scene in one sneaker. The sleek silhouette features a simple build, mixing mesh and nubuck leather overlays, prioritizing comfort and durability above all. The silhouette quickly became an important piece of the brand’s history, getting its first retro release just ten years later in 1995. Since then, the silhouette has returned every five years, heralded by the Japan edition for each new series.
This week, following the debut of this year’s JP style in May, New Balance has unveiled another pair of the iconic runner. Coming from the Made in USA line, the new look covers the silhouette in their classic navy blue color scheme. The look features a light blue mesh for the shoe’s base layer, adding dark navy nubuck panels for the overlays. The shoe’s heel tabs and N logos come in light grey shade with a reflective finish, while small hints of plain white even out the color palette.
