Andrew Wiggins took home the Kia NBA Rookie of the Year award on Thursday. To commemorate the achievement, Adidas released a limited edition version of one of its court-ready shoes dedicated to the young Minnesota Timberwolves forward.
The brand released the Crazylight Boost 2015 adorned with maple leaves – paying homage to his home country of Canada – in the colors of his high school team (Huntington Prep in West Virginia), his college (Kansas Jayhawks), and the Timberwolves.
Wiggins, the first overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft, first wore the Crazylight Boost 2015 on the court for the Rising Stars Challenge during NBA All-Star Weekend, which he received game MVP honors. The forward scored 22 points for the World team in the win.
This season, Wiggins averaged 16.9 points and 4.6 rebounds per game for the 16-66 Timberwolves.
The shoe released Friday and is available at Foot Locker at the Mall of America in Minneapolis, the Foot Locker online store, Eastbay.com, and via the Adidas online store.
