To mark Veterans Day, Adidas is continuing its street style-inspired Cleathead culture movement by outfitting two of its sponsored college football teams with a pair of patriotic cleat styles. Those models — which were worn by Mississippi State on Saturday — are now available for purchase.
The “Young Patriot” pack — consisting of the Adizero 5-Star 6.0 x Kevlar style and the Freak x Kevlar cleat — was made with canvas inspired by U.S. military uniforms, and features stars and stripes in a black-and-white color palette. The two pairs of cleats are on adidas.com with retail prices of $120 and $130, respectively.
Mississippi State University rocked the looks on Nov. 5 when the team defeated Texas A&M by a score of 35-28, and the University of Louisville — coming a 52-7 thrashing of Boston College on Nov. 5 — will wear them on Nov. 12 against Wake Forest.
Adidas’ teams also dressed in “Young Patriot” Primeknit alternate uniforms to honor veterans for upcoming games; the design features the black-and-white theme, boasting a stars and stripes graphic across the shoulders.
