Is Ronnie Fieg Releasing A Re-tooled Version Of Scottie Pippen’s Nike Air Maestro?

Ronnie Fieg appears to be cooking up something quite interesting with Nike, as the footwear figurehead just teased a never before seen model in a rich purple colorway. The mysterious shoe appears to be a radically remodeled edition of the Nike Air Maestro 2, a 1994 basketball shoe made most notable by Scottie Pippen who wore an all-red pair during the 1994 NBA All-Star Game on the way to claiming the game’s MVP honors. The makeover of the classic hoops shoe features a number of modifications, including an asymmetrical lacing system, zippered enclosures on the medial side, velcro ankle straps, and added toe Swooshes. Fieg also hinted that the purple nubuck colorway is a reference to Pippen’s college basketball days at the small school of the University of Central Arkansas.
