Beaverton’s very own Jordan Brand division is definitely starting to brew up some excitement surrounding the forthcoming celebrations of Chinese New Year. After confirming releases of an AJ 13 and AJ 34, they’re looking to further expand upon their holiday lineup by injecting their beloved Air Jordan 1 Low with some “Year of the Rat” energy. While this iteration adopts similar design cues to that of the aforementioned models, it dives even deeper into the Eastern-inspired culture by bringing embroidered floral hits, firework panels, diamond cut graphics, and traditional art mosaics to the table. Arranged in what almost looks like a “What The” makeover, each sneaker generally features the same embellishments but splits them up differently between each foot. And as if the decor wasn’t flashy enough, the constructions take a chance on the wild side as well as the base layers alternate between leather, nappy suedes, and patent leather heel pieces that feature a rigged texture. In addition, vibrant neon pinks adorn the tongues and tread to coincide with the main palette used amongst its festive siblings. Grab an official look here below, and expect these to drop on Nike.com and at select Jordan retailers in February 2020. While you wait, see what else Nike/Jordan Brand is cooking up for Chinese New Year 2020.
