Michael Le LA’s STAUD introduced their own brand of athleticism by way of New Balance earlier in the year, offering up a wealth of sportswear essentials as well as a multicolored interpretation of the 997 silhouette. Fall 2020, by comparison, is far more subdued, its range — which explores a few apparel staples and a neutral-toned 327 — an answer to the loud rainbow colors that preceded it.
High performance wear and ponte styles meet under the umbrella of monochromatic versatility, all culminating into a selection of both loose and body conforming staples. Light oversized fleece tunics reflect retro 90s ideas, while the blue-highlighted biker shorts and ankle-length leggings add a sense of versatile modernity. Floor-grazing dresses and long-sleeve crop tops then arrive adjacent, both being core ingredients to the overarching lifestyle breadth that’s undoubtedly led by the accompanying 327. Though hued in achromatic tones, the model effectively mirrors the palette of a few of the aforementioned wearables; hits of burgundy coat the oversized “N” logo while the achromatic takes further form via the white bases and grey suede overlays. What’s more, the construction also finishes with a oft-favorited gum sole, completing what STAUD considers “carefree sophistication.”
