Here’s What’s New With The Nike ZoomX VaporFly NEXT% 2

Nike has long been at the forefront of the running industry, crafting some of the most cutting edge performance footwear bar none. And with the unveil of the Zoom Vaporfly NEXT% 2, the brand is darting far ahead of the pack.

The silhouette’s predecessor, which caused quite the controversy for its perceived performance advantage, was the latest and greatest for ZoomX cushioning. This upcoming update essentially follows the same stride, though with tweaks to both the design and the functional amenities. An engineered mesh now dresses the upper for a much softer and more breathable feel, while the tongue layers on pockets of padding to alleviate any lace pressure. The forefoot, then, is visibly reinforced, improving overall containment and durability.

There are also a number of familiar details for fans of the original. The full-length carbon plate delivers the same propulsion, the sole complements with its wide, stable base, and ZoomX foam still ensures everything is lightweight. Traction and form are not lost as well, with their respective grooves and 8mm offset keeping in line with the high standard.

Two colorways are ringing in the inaugural release of the VaporFly NEXT% 2. Following the white option’s exclusive launch earlier this past weekend, the “Aqua” will hit global retailers and Nike.com on March 25th.
