atmos Brings An “Eggplant” Finish To The ASICS GEL-Kayano 14

Having recently assisted Undermycar, atmos has an ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 collaboration of its own on the way.

The Japanese sneaker boutique is no stranger to the sportswear behemoth, having worked on handfuls of projects over the last two decades. Although many co-branded efforts have arrived in the form of the GEL-Lyte III, atmos has proven itself in the realm of sneaker collaborations, boasting a long list of compelling efforts with the top players in the space. Teased by none other than Hirofumi Kojima, atmos’ Head of Product, the impending GEL-Kayano series effort opts for a straightforward eggplant and pewter color scheme. The latter hue has recently emerged on several retro performance ASICS styles, but atmos’ use of metallic purple brings a breath of fresh air to the lineup. Laces, mesh on the tongue, and inner-lining deviate from their surroundings in a darker grey tone; GEL-assisted midsoles underfoot follow suit. Co-branding isn’t visible on Kojima’s teaser shots, but it’s possible more angles will reveal both Japanese institution’s logos in union.

Enjoy an early look at the pair ahead. Release details haven’t been disclosed by either party involved at the time of this writing, but that’s likely to change soon. If the collaboration launches via asics.com, expect it to drop with an MSRP of $180 USD.
