Nubuck And Suede Grace The Converse AS-1 “Egret”

Two-tone color blocking takes shape.

Nubuck And Suede Grace The Converse AS-1 “Egret”

Alexis Sablone has quickly become one of the most significant athletes under the Converse umbrella. She designed the Nike SB kits for the USA and Japan teams for the 2024 Paris Olympics, including special takes on the Converse AS-1 Pro and Nike SB Dunk Low, the former being her first signature shoe. In keeping with the AS-1 Pro’s mainline release schedule, however, Converse touches down with a new “Egret” colorway.

The model itself fits perfectly in Converse’s lineup of low-top, 80s-inspired silhouettes, notably the new Converse Weapon Ox. Of course, the utility of the AS-1 Pro centers around skate; it does a solid job of balancing grip, comfort, stability and cushioning. The “Egret” design of focus here features nubuck leather overlays suede base, complemented by black hits on the midsole, tongue, heel, and leather panel under the quarter.

Pairs are available now from converse.com for $80. See our “Where To Buy” section just ahead for direct shopping links if you’re feeling compelled to cop.
