While the general public may recognize the Nike Vomero for its comfortable performance-turned-lifestyle option in the fifth model, it’s actually a well-respected and highly-popular franchise in the core running community. Now seventeen models in, the Zoom Vomero 17 (which debuted late in 2023) is considered to be one of the best bang-for-buck running options from the Swoosh, boasting a Cushlon 3.0 foam and ZoomX underfoot.

Despite its wonderful properties, the Vomero 17 doesn’t get nearly the amount of love that the Pegasus franchise does. The latter does take seniority, and it is indeed an “all purpose” running/athletic sneaker, but the Vomero family thrives in that IYKYK circle of milers, from the beginners dabbling in 5k walk/runs to those who pound through 26.2 with ease.

Arriving later this Fall/Winter is one of the more exciting executions of the Vomero 17 inspired by a past running great The Zoom Talaria, a legendary running shoe from 1997 that last re-issed in 2016, possesses the body of the modern running shoe via the bright volt green uppers, the framework overlay on the toe, and even the color-blocking on the midsole. The touches of bright crimson on the heel and sole match the signature gradient seen on the footbeds. We’ve seen a similar execution by Nike Basketball in which the GT Hustle 2 adopted the iconic colorway.
