We’re not even five years removed from the New Balance 550‘s celebrated resurgence, but the sneaker industry landscape looks far different now than it did back then. The neo-vintage wave has died down significantly, succeeded by newfound love for Y2K styles like the New Balance 1906R and such. Even still, despite losing considerable shelf space and slowing its release cadence, the basketball-turned-lifestyle shoe remains a top mover for the Boston brand.
This “Pink Granite” women’s colorway takes aim at the SoHo chic crowd, blending versatile, contemporary tones with retro sport DNA. Suede overlays wrap the base, with cream-colored “Linen” leather resting one layer down. Brown accents dot the quarter logo, tongue, heel, and 550 text on the lateral quarter, comprising a “Neapolitan” vibe, while “Sea Salt” accounts for the bulk of the midsole underfoot.
The New Balance 550 “Pink Granite” has been loaded onto the New Balance website and will release on October 15th for $120. Keep our “Where To Buy” section handy for an easy checkout on that date.
