The Air Jordan 2/3 Takes The Trip From UNC To Chicago

Michael Jordan’s journey from college to the pro ranks is often looked back at as the true beginning of his winning ways. While many point to his six championships with the Chicago Bulls as the defining accomplishments of his career, MJ was lifting ‘chip trophies above his head as a member of the UNC Tar Heels.

The “UNC To Chi” colorway concept first debuted in 2020 on the women’s exclusive Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG. One of the few instances in which Tar Heel blue and Chicago Bulls red joined together in one shoe, that Air Jordan 1 placed a spotlight on that transitionary period of MJ’s career in 1985.

The Air Jordan 2/3 hybrid model, itself a connection of two events in the Air Jordan legacy, approaches the concept with a white leather upper, all-black midsole, and hits of University Blue on the ridged heel. Chicago red takes form on the outsole as well as the Wings logo emblazoned on the tongue. These may look a bit familiar, because there was in fact an Air Jordan 2 Low “UNC To Chi” (also a women’s release) in early 2023.

Select Jordan retailers are beginning to stock these now, with arrival due on Nike.com soon for $160. More updates to come on our Jordan Release Dates page.
