Returning to the winning techy formula.

New Balance Freshens Up the 860v2 For A Renewed 2025 Push

New Balance’s foothold in the tech runner space is ironclad, exemplified by the continuing popularity of the New Balance 1906R and New Balance 9060. However, an older proposition became a frequent sight in the brand’s catalog in the past few years: the New Balance 860v2. Featuring heavily into their collaborative efforts over that span, the shoe has quietly been on an in-line hiatus since the middle of 2024, now interrupted with two fresh looks including the “Cream/Dark Grey” at hand.

It shouldn’t come as a shock that Boston designers return to Y2K territory on the silhouette, given that some of the DNA on display here (the sole unit) already bringing the 2002R and 1906R to become two of their standout offerings. Much like those two would wear, multiple shades of steely grey overtake the upper with an inescapable off-white midsole taking the vintage stylings over the finish line. A swatch of dark grey at the quarter and jet black underfoot set up some stark color-blocking, but these still read as a standard take on the still-influential retro wave.

The New Balance 860v2 is coming soon to NewBalance.com and likely partnering retailers. Be ready for the silo’s usual $150 retail price upon arrival.
