The First Kool-Aid x Nike Ja 2 Releases On May 16th

Updated May 15th, 2025: The Kool-Aid x Nike Ja 2 “Mixed Berry,” the mismatched pair in the two-pack, has been loaded on SNKRS for May 16th. Retail is set at $130. Scroll further for our original coverage, including a breakdown of the additional “Tropical Punch” colorway set to release on July 1st.

We’ve grown so accustomed to Ja Morant “leaking” his own shoes, it’s almost unexpected to get an official announcement. Already tipped off by the man himself, we’re now getting concrete details regarding the Kool-Aid x Ja 2 collection, served up over the next few months for two summery drops in May and July.

True to those initial shots, the first half of the collection serves up a saccharine take on the mismatch motif that Morant thoroughly explores in mainline editions. “Pink Lemonade” and “Blue Raspberry” flavoring drape the uppers of either shoe, further contrasting each other with black and orange heel cups. Along with emblem depictions of the Kool-Aid Man, either shoe is joined by green apple outsoles underfoot.

The big development, however, is the reveal of the Kool-Aid Ja 2 in “Tropical Punch.” In contrast to that initial edition, the colorway remains intact from left to right, capitalizing on a fiery gradient from red at the toe to pink at the heel. An ice sole underfoot evokes hot summer days, as does the water droplet finish pasted onto the muguard and heel cup. Finally, in the biggest embrace of the refresher company, cracked brick patterns sit behind the Swoosh, calling to mind the iconic destructive tendencies of the Kool-Aid Man.

The Nike x Kool-Aid Ja 2 “Mixed Berry” releases on May 16 via SNKRS, retailing for $130. The second colorway, the “Tropical Punch,” will follow on July 1st with the same MSRP. Keep watch over this collab via our Sneaker Release Dates page for further info as the launch nears closer.
