You hear “3D-printed sneaker” and you may envision a gimmicky marketing buzzword. That’s not the case with the adidas ClimaCool, a sneaker that stole the hearts of shoe-heads and stripes fanatics last September when the shoe first flooded social media through the handiwork of photographer Arab Lincoln. Not long after, adidas dropped a very limited quantity of the Off White colorway in limited number; now, it’s time for the masses to test out what may be one of the summer’s most essential cops.
The shoes are simply called the adidas ClimaCool, a bold choice considering the ClimaCool name is an existing property that debuted at the turn of the century. Built by 3D-printed lattice structure, the super-lightweight ClimaCool offers unbridled ventilation as airflow can enter and exit at any angle. Wearing these sockless during the hot summer months might be the move.
The design is extremely minimal with an aerodynamic form. The branding stays sharp as three bold stripes sit on the upper. You’ll find similar logo placements on models like the recently revealed Adizero Adios Pro Evo 2.
A global release is scheduled for May 2nd, 2025 for $140. They’ll be available on the Confirmed App as well as select in-store locations: NYC 5th Ave, NYC Broadway, NYC Spring Street, Miami Aventura, Chicago Wicker Park, LA Abbot Kinney, LA Melrose, Downtown LA, and Las Vegas Blvd.
