When the Dallas Mavericks shocked the NBA world by trading Luka Dončić to Los Angeles in February, fans and insiders alike were stunned. Luka in purple and gold? Nobody saw that coming – not even him. But once the dust settled, the narrative flipped. What followed was less than a transition and more of a revenge tour, with Jordan Brand riding shotgun.
Jordan wasted no time leaning into the drama. George Strait’s All My Ex’s Live in Texas scored a video spot. Billboards reading “The Trial of Luka Doncic” popped up in Dallas ahead of his return. For his part, Luka dropped 45 points in his first game back in town, drawing cheers from Mavs fans and side-eyes toward their front office.
But the real headline? Luka unveiled the Jordan Luka 4 during the first Lakers – Mavs showdown in L.A. – a fitting premiere for his latest signature sneaker on the biggest stage. The new Jordan Luka .77, the only takedown model owned by a current Jordan athlete, is further proof: Jordan doesn’t just believe in Luka – they’re betting big on his global star power.
With a new era of Luka’s career now under way, there’s never been a better time to get in on the action. We’ve rounded up our favorite Luka Doncic sneakers below, including adult and kid’s colorways of the all-new Luka 4 and Luka .77. The Jordan Luka 4 made a strong impression off the bat, unveiled by Dončić himself in the “Space Navigator” colorway during his first matchup against his former team. A true upgrade from its predecessor, the Luka 4 features Jordan Brand’s proprietary IsoPlate, Cushlon 3.0 foam, and refined Flightwire cables for containment. It’s also got a Zoom Air unit for added comfort; a first for Luka’s signature line.
There’s also a mismatched black, Varsity Red, and white “Bloodline” colorway available globally, sharing the heartbeat of Jordan with a white/black/red colorway. Later on down the line in May, the Luka 4 includes a pastel “Gone Fishing” colorway inspired by the Slovenian’s joy for fishing and boating (and sending opponents packing following playoff losses).
Luka’s first ever takedown model is tuned specifically for outdoor hoopers, complete with a more responsive interior featuring seven strategic heel cutouts for comfort. The “Space Navigator” colorway comes decked out in playful shades of pink and purple, while the “Bloodline” returns to a timeless mid of black Varsity Red, and white. Slated to launch later in May is a White/Silver colorway the reminds us that Luka is pure money when it comes to filling up the stat-sheet.
