As Corteiz tipped off the renewed retro of the Nike Air Trainer Huarache, their initial three-pack delivery was, in hindsight, an indication of the aesthetics that Beaverton would tend to with Tinker Hatfield’s model. Clint419’s three tonal editions were quickly joined on the newswire by two similar inline all-over pairs, tacit confirmation that they’d attempt to bring the archival model into the modern catalog with trendier palettes.
However, while we expect that endeavor to continue as the Nike Air Trainer Huarache issues further looks, it’s impossible to explicate the shoe from its sporty 90s origins compositionally, so it’s only right for Nike to nod to that on at least a few occassions. The “Wolf Grey/Star Blue” pair at hand is one such chance; the ocean cyan sole and an unexpected combo of Sail and black through suede exterior cage and inner neoprene bootie make this a dead ringer. If you need further proof, jump back to some of the previous Air Trianer Huarache retros: size?’s 2015 collab and a “Cool Blue” GR from the same year are two suitable comparison points.
The Nike Air Trainer Huarache “Wolf Grey/Star Blue” is expected to release early into the Fall 2025 window (July – September) carrying a $140 price tag.
