Nike is no stranger to the bring-back, but a totemic shoe in the legacy of Nike SB is hitting the shelves, carrying with it a bit more of a rarified air. The Nike SB P-Rod 1 is back in action on May 20th, and our expectations of what the shoe will deliver comes further into view with in-hand shots surfacing and a Nardwaur link-up with the man himself.
His status on the Nike SB roster is something Rodriguez hammers home in the interview, citing the fact that he remains the only skater to receive ten signature shoes. For the 20th anniversary, the Nike SB P-Rod 1 remains true to the”look and feel” of the original, though you’ll spot platinum detailing that nods to the occassion, including the ever-mysterious SHS dubrae that not even the Human Serviette could crack the meaning of. The only divergence from the shoe’s original build is a shift to a clear sole instead of the matte black arrangement of the 2005 release. Notably, P-Rod’s feature comes as the interviewer himself steps into the skateboarding consciousness with the announcement of the Nardwuar SB Dunk.
The Nike SB P-Rod 1 in white and black hits skate shops on May 16th and SNKRS on May 20th. Whichever channel you pursue, MSRP is set at $120. Check out in-hand shots included below, and watch our Sneaker Release Dates page for more updates as they come.
