As we sort through all the heat the summer has to offer, we’re getting a chance to look a few months ahead. The Air Jordan 12 “French Blue” looms for August, and following the usual cadence of news leak to first look, we stop off at the detailed images station, with retailer shots of the 2025 version coming to light.
True to the initial in-hand shots, what GOAT provides is confirmation that it’ll be a one-to-one retro of the aughts classic. Tumbled leather on the radial upper strips and a pebbled counterpart on the mudguard continue to deliver the elevated air that the Jordan 12 has maintained throughout its history. The everlasting combination of blue and white further allows that energy to peek through, with flares of metallic silver at the eye-stays and branding strip at the midfoot.
Though on-court heroics helped some of the silhouette’s most iconic looks reach that status among the public (the “Flu Game,” “Cherry,” and “Taxi” come to mind), the original 2004 release of the Air Jordan 12 “French Blue” came a bit after His Airness was in game shape. Instead, it was one of the most notable immediate releases of the post-MJ Jordan Brand era, and thus landed on notable torch-bearers like Rip Hamilton, Carmelo Anthony, and of course, Kobe Bryant.
The Air Jordan 12 “French Blue” releases on August 16th, retailing for $200. As we near the drop, keep our Jordan Release Dates page within reach for our store list and updated release coverage.
