The first signature Tyrese Haliburton shoe is officially here. Designed by Salehe Bembury, the PUMA Hali 1 will make its on-court debut tonight when the Indiana Pacers and OKC Thunder meet in game one of the NBA Finals. Keep scrolling to dive in further.
To put it simply, the sneaker is exactly what you’d expect out of a Salehe-designed performance basketball model. Starting underfoot, the Hali 1 features a sculpted midsole reminiscent of the New York designer’s myriad Crocs collaborations, namely the Crocs Juniper. NITRO performance technology is utilized as the primary cushioning package, complemented by herringbone tread and what appears to be an internal plate underfoot. The upper is made distinct by a TPU cage and PUMA Big Cat logo, with lightweight, patterned mesh resting one layer down. Tyrese Haliburton’s signature PUMA logo appears on top of the tongue, complemented by open mesh material under the laces. Finally, two layers of protective material add durability to the toe.
It was about a year ago that Salehe Bembury joined the fabric at PUMA, with the brand stating he would be responsible for recruiting its next signature athlete and designing a sneaker for them. Tyrese Haliburton then left Nike for PUMA in October of 2024, and we’ve been connecting the dots between the two ever since.
The Hali 1 “Hibiscus” colorway seen above was jointly teased by Salehe and Hali on social media a few weeks back, tipping off the now-confirmed NBA Finals unveiling. Just like Converse with SGA’s Converse SHAI 001, PUMA couldn’t dream of move favorable conditions for unveiling Haliburton’s first signature shoe. The Pacers star has been one of the hottest topics of this year’s playoffs, owning clutch moment after clutch moment throughout the first three rounds.
The PUMA Hali 1 will launch this September via puma.com and PUMA Hoops retail partners, but no pricing info has been announced yet. Catch the “Hibiscus” on-court tonight when Haliburton and the Pacers battle SGA and the Thunder in the NBA Finals.
