It’s already been a banner year for Bad Bunny, producing one of his best-selling and most critically acclaimed records with Debí Tirar Más Fotos, an LP regarded as a true personal breakthrough. Outside of the studio, his ironclad partnership with adidas has rolled on to similar acclaim, the face of the adidas Ballerina as the low-pro movement has shifted the industry while simultaneously hinting at further steps in the Bad Bunny adidas Gazelle series.
We already got a taste of what else the superstar had in the can via an early look at an orange/olive sample at the tail end of 2024, but a new entrant steps into the foreground via the Bad Bunny adidas Gazelle “Wonder Clay / Cabo Rojo.” Sporting many of the identical trademarks we’ve seen from the previous off-white and “San Juan” editions, the shoe separates from mainline Gazelles with the exposed product tag at the heel, a curved T-toe, and an exposed synthetic collar.
Much the same as the “San Juan” colorway dedicated to the picturesque ocean views from the capital city, the “Cabo Rojo” odes to the pink salt flats in the southwestern district of the island, inspiration that’s most true-to-life with the translucent sole unit underfoot.
While early information confirms that this pair will join a “Unity Orange” and “Amazon Green” can reasonably be expected in 2025, more precise details haven’t yet surfaced. Bad Bunny’s 30-show residency in Puerto Rico, currently slated for September, does make us raise our eyebrows in this context; perhaps we’ll see special activations for this capsule alongside.
