The 2015-16 NBA season kicked off Tuesday night, and some of the league’s big names debuted sneakers in fresh colorways.
The Cleveland Cavaliers, led by Lebron James, headed to the United Center in Chicago, falling to the Bulls 97-95. James wore his signature Nike Lebron 13 shoes, part of the Opening Night pack, which drops Nov. 11.
The Cavs were missing point guard Kyrie Irving, who is out with a fractured knee cap. Bulls point guard Derrick Rose, who wore his newest Adidas signature shoe, the D Rose 6 “Home” colorway, played with a plastic face guard on as he continues to recover from a fractured orbital bone. Bulls shooting guard Jimmy Butler wore the Jordan Super.Fly 4 Players Edition.
On the West Coast, the New Orleans Pelicans visited the defending NBA champions, the Golden State Warriors, led by Stephen Curry. Curry wore his Under Armour Curry Two sneakers in a home team-inspired white, blue and yellow colorway. Warriors player Klay Thompson’s Anta unreleased sneakers were also in the same colors.
Season openers continue tonight as the Minnesota Timberwolves head to the Staples Center to take on the Los Angeles Lakers. Kobe Bryant will wear the Nike Kobe X Elite Opening Night—a bright yellow style.
Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder will play the San Antonio spurs, with Durant debuting the Nike KD8 Opening Night black, white and orange colorway.
