The Adidas Yeezy 350 Cleats have had quite a run over the past few weeks. After their official unveiling on Sept. 13, Adidas released the Kanye West-designed football cleats to the public on Sept. 15. The cleats sold out within minutes, and the buzz was only further amplified when the NFL banned the cleats from on-field action. Now that things have calmed down a bit, one YouTuber found a way to turn the spiked cleats into a wearable sneaker.
YouTube user RetroSnickers, who specializes in vintage sneaker restorations, fused the upper of the Adidas Yeezy 350 Cleat with the midsole of the Adidas Ultra Boost. However, instead of simply showing off the final product, RetroSnickers provides a detailed step-by-step breakdown of the process, including a rundown of all the materials and tools required to make it happen.
In the end, the customization went off without a hitch, and RetroSnickers was able to effectively turn the football cleats into a functional sneaker. Watch the entire process in the clip below.
