New Balance is a go-to label for designers interested in providing limited-edition collaborations for consumers. Todd Snyder is the latest to lend his vision to a classic shoe from the Boston-based brand.
The Todd Snyder x New Balance “Black and Tan” NB1 998 is in stores now and retails for $210. The Made in USA shoe is available at toddsnyder.com.
New York’s iconic Old Town Bar, according to New Balance, was the source of inspiration for the shoe.
“I love a Black and Tan, and I always love an old-school pub. It was great to work with New Balance to customize a smart-looking sneaker that captures that retro vibe in a modern way,” Snyder said in a statement.
The shoe features a black and tan upper with white New Balance “N” branding. The upper has black and tan suede and tan mesh on the toe box. The shoe is completed with a mostly gray with black and white midsole, and a black outsole.
The iconic 998 has been a popular silhouette for collabs from the athletic brand as of late. The label dropped a shoe with Horween Leather last week, boasting a $340 price tag.
