We already knew that Rihanna’s Fenty Puma Creepers, FN’s Shoe of the Year, were a blockbuster hit — and on Thursday, the velvet version sold out again.
Now online shopping site Lyst has announced that the Fenty Puma style was the most searched shoe on its site in 2016. The popularity helped Puma net a 183 percent increase in popularity on Lyst this year.
Gucci was also heavily searched, with the brand’s fur-lined loafers ranking high on the search list. Overall, the slide category grew a whopping 476 percent over last year.
Shoes continue to be a robust category for the site — and more than a quarter of Lyst visitors shopped for footwear this year.
J.W. Anderson’s Pierce bag was the hottest handbag of the year, according to Lyst. During September Fashion Week alone, more than 750,000 people searched for a “Pierce” bag.
But back to Queen Ri. The latest Creepers from Rihanna and Puma were done in three velvet colorways, fitting for the coming chilly winter temperatures. The shoes were this time offered in gray, black and burgundy velvet.
