Dua Lipa Brings Back the ’90s Platform Heel at Hits 97.3 Sessions Concert

Dua Lipa has got new rules — and we’re talking the fashion kind.

The singer-songwriter made a serious style statement yesterday when she appeared at America’s Backyard in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to perform an exclusive set as part of Hits 97.3’s Hits Sessions’ latest concert series.

Lipa marked the occasion in an edgy upcycled number from half-Swedish, half-Lebanese designer Nathalie Ballout’s fall ’18 collection. With mismatched printed fabrics lining one side and frayed-hem denim covering the other, the singer banished the notion that less is more.

The dress’ teeny length also allowed Lipa to flaunt a pair of gold-glitter platform heels with an open toe and ankle straps that took us back to the ’90s.

The 22-year-old pop star’s headliner featured fan-favorite tracks off her self-titled debut studio album in a one-night-only concert that invited attendees through lottery-won tickets instead of individual purchases. She also took part in an up-close-and-personal interview with the radio show’s afternoon host, Kimmy B.

Lipa shared her excitement about the event on Twitter and Instagram. “Thank you to all the radio stations that invited me over yesterday to perform for you all! I feel so lucky to get to meet loves all over the world,” she wrote. “Thank you for giving us the opportunity! Love you Miami see you at the show tonight!!!”
