Alessandra Ambrosio Hikes in Biker Shorts, a Rainbow Hoodie & Unconventional Shoes

Alessandra Ambrosio ventured out for a scenic hike with friends this weekend as the model explored Burney Falls and Mount Shasta, Calif.

Taking in the great outdoors, the former Victoria’s Secret Angel prepped for an active day in a color-wheel printed hoodie layered over classic biker shorts. While biker shorts have always been present in the fitness community, the silhouette has become more commonplace amongst celebrity trends and street style in the past few months; the comfortable yet chic appeal of the bottoms falls in line with the growing desire for stability and familiarity in fashion as well as the ever-popular athleisure trend, too.

To top off the athletic ensemble, Ambrosio opted for all-white sneakers with a unique lacing system. While the pair is workout-ready, sneakers can be a tricky choice for hiking as they offer less traction on slippery surfaces with less protection for the elements like dirt and water in comparison to traditional hiking boots.

The hike yesterday wasn’t the model’s only time chasing waterfalls this week, either. On Oct. 23, the Brazillian native made her way to the McCloud Falls in a similar workout-style ensemble. The outfit included a gray hoodie, black cropped leggings and purple-laced sneakers.

When it comes to her personal shoe style, Ambrosio can be found in a mix of looks, including casual sneakers by Common Projects and Golden Goose as well as cherry red Giuseppe Zanotti heels. More recently, thong-toe sandals have become one of Ambrosio’s go-to shoes of choice throughout quarantine in addition to her big toe pairs. She owns multiple pairs of classic flip flops from Havaianas of course, previously showing off all-black and other tan colorways, as well as a pair from Brazillian eco-friendly footwear brand Green Flip Flops, constructed with plant-based plastic.

Along with her title of Angel, Ambrosio has appeared in ad campaigns for Schutz, Jordache, XTI Shoes and Swarovski, among other brands. The Brazilian model also launched her own swimwear line, Gal Floripa, last year with her best friend Gisele Cória and sister Aline Ambrosio.
