An Air Jordan 5 reminiscent of the beloved “Oregon” colorway of the shoe is set to arrive this month.
The Air Jordan 5 “Apple Green,” which is scheduled to arrive next weekend, is the latest iteration of the Michael Jordan signature shoe that Jordan Brand will deliver. The look is executed in apple green, black and yellow strike hues, and is completed with an icy translucent outsole.
In the product description on the SNKRS app, the shoe takes after “an AJ5 created for a school with deep ties to Nike.” Since 2011, Jordan Brand has outfitted athletes at the University of Oregon with exclusive colorways of classic sneakers, with the Air Jordan 5 being one of them.
An Air Jordan 5 made specifically for the Oregon Ducks that greatly resembles the “Apple Green” release debuted in 2014. “There’s a reason why these are either black or white, it’s so they are easy to wear. So I was like let’s just do a totally bright green one and put the Duck on it. Even though it was bright green, it was just a good departure from everything before it,” legendary designer Tinker Hatfield said in a release talking about this original Oregon-exclusive shoe.
The Air Jordan 5 “Apple Green” drops Sept. 12 at 10 a.m. ET via the SNKRS app. The sneaker will retail for $225.
