Little Mix has kicked off their 2016 Get Weird Tour, and Footwear News is getting a closer look at the shoes made exclusively for their performances.
Group members Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall wear four styles made by JF London, which launched in late 2015 and handcrafts its shoes in Italy.
JF London Creative Director Joshua Fenu worked with Little Mix’s costume designer, Nicola Atkinson, on the looks.
The styles include a knee-high silver metallic caged boot with a lug sole, a knee-high black lace-up boot and two motorcycle-style boots — one in gold and one in black.
“Working together with Little Mix costume designer Nicola Atkinson, we early on established that comfort was key due to the girls’ energetic dance routines,” Fenu told FN. “Combined with the tour themes and colors we then decided on leather and from that I started sketching.”
Fenu also expressed his excitement in working with Atkinson and Little Mix.
“I’m a huge fan of their style and music and very excited to have had this opportunity,” he said.
The Little Mix Tour will travel all over the U.K. and other European countries, Australia and Asia through June 2016.
