The Academy of Country Music Awards has seen its fair share of bold shoe moments over the years, from Taylor Swift in glistening cowboy boots to Shania Twain in strappy platform sandals. With the annual awards ceremony coming up, FN is taking a stroll down memory lane to reminisce on some of the standout shoe styles to hit the ACM Awards right before the 59th Academy of Country Music Awards next week.
In 2021, Martina McBride styled a bedazzled mini dress with matching sandals embellished with crystals. The strappy style wrapped around the “Concrete Angel” singer’s low legs, cutting off just below the knees, and boasted a thin, angular heel.
Nearly a decade earlier, LeAnn Rimes hit the red carpet in strappy grey leather platform sandals adorned with multiple buckles. The stiletto heels measured over 4 inches in height.
Taylor Swift styled a bohemian floral-print dress with a pair of chocolate brown cowboy boots boasting a lustrous finish and ornate detailing on the upper in 2006.
Faith Hill opted for lace-up wedge sandals in a cream hue. The shoes were set on a subtle platform and adorned with round, gold-tone studs. The wedge heel was also equipped with a shimmery design.
Shania Twain wore strappy black platform sandals that wrapped around her ankle to the 2003 ACM Awards. The style also featured chunky block heels.
The 59th Academy of Country Music Awards will be available to stream live at 8 p.m. ET on Prime Video, with the star-studded ceremony set to air on May 16 from the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. Kelsea Ballerini and Noah Kahan will hit the stage together, as well as Nate Smith and Avril Lavigne. Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are also slated to duet. Country music legend Reba McEntire will host the ceremony for the 17th time. The “Reba” star will also perform new music.
