Though the chillier weather is setting in, actress Anne Hathaway had her legs partially out while on the town in New York City on Friday. The performer was photographed in the city wearing an all black look including a covetable bag.

Hathaway’s shoes were knee high combat boots. The styles laced all the way up and were made of black leather. They also included a chunky, well-worn thick rubber tread. The mid sole also appears. to include an abrasion resistant panel which helps to reduce wear and tear. In fact, the rubber outsole is clearly worn on the shoe, meaning they are not likely new.

Along the inside of the leg there is a zipper that goes all the way to the bottom of the foot for ease of use. She paired the combat boots with a black wool coat, as well as a sweater and what seemed to be a leather mini-skirt.

She also wore a pair of orange-lensed aviator frames. In her hands she carried a quilted black leather bag. The bag was Bulgari’s Serpenti Cobochon style which includes a maxi crossbody chain. The flap style is notably closed with a Serpenti head embellishment featuring black onyx scales.

This is not the first time Hathaway has worn tall boots this fall. In early October, she wore a pair of thigh-high Versace boots. Instead of a tough combat style, that pair was an elegant take on a cowboy boot. On Halloween last week, she paired her “Star Wars” inspired costume with a pair of vintage light brown suede and nubuck Vivienne Westwood Pirate boots.

With fall weather here and winter coming, there’s an expectation that more tall boots are on the way. Jennifer Lopez just wore a slick, glossy pair of Saint Laurent boots in New York City this weekend. She had previously worn those back in May. But last week, Salma Hayek reached for a pair of Casdei knee-high boots she’s been wearing for a few years. Those sport a thick platform and blocky heel.

For the fall 2025 season designers showed a series of tall second-skin boots. So far, stars like Taylor Swift have been trying out iterations from brands like Vivienne Westwood. This included the company’s platform Grace boot in black leather.
