Kelly Rowland went with a classic shoe choice for an appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” lacing up black high top Converse sneakers to go with a pinstriped ensemble.
Rowland dressed up in a white pinstriped set including a floor-length dress and a matching double-breasted blazer featuring a notch lapel.
She complemented her chic business ensemble with an array of necklaces including strands of pearls, a “Mom” pendant and a green cross pendant, to name a few. Hudson was also decked out in white, wearing a blouse, double-breasted jacket and a skirt crafted with swishy threads of fabric.
While some might have picked out a pair of pumps or sandals to accentuate the formal tone established by the pinstriped set, Rowland added a casual note to her look with a pair of Converse sneakers. She wore a black high top version of the classic Chuck Taylor All Star Canvas sneaker, proving the long-beloved style goes with everything.
Some of its highly distinguishable features include a circular star-emblazoned patche on the side, a white cap toe, silver eyelets and white stitching. From Converse, this particular style retails for $65.
Prior to the conversation with the Oscar-winning host, Rowland went down the now-famous Spirit Tunnel backstage where members of the “The Jennifer Hudson Show” staff line up and cheered her on as she walked down the hallway. They kicked things off with a rendition of her 2018 song “Like This” before jumping into her hit song “Bootylicious,” which she sang alongside Beyonce and Michelle Williams as part of their girl group Destiny’s Child. The singer, who was comfortable in her sneakers, kicked off her infectious dance moves, even performing a portion of the 2001 track’s choreography.
While Rowland often dress up in a statement-making heel, like the silver Jimmy Choo Mary Jane style pumps she wore at a Golden Globes after party this month, she’s also shown her appreciation for sneakers in the past. In 2023, for example, she stepped out in the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Dark Mocha shoes.
