Laverne Cox attended the premiere of “The Apprentice” in New York City on Oct. 8 with her distinctive flair for fashion on display. Wearing metallic silver from head to toe, she rocked a pair of silver embossed pumps with a unique top from Amplituda Designs.
Cox’s outfit broke the mold with its avant-garde design; the ensemble included a clear corset top with a metallic breastplate featuring a hemline with peaks and valleys resembling flames, water or stalagmites. Streaks of what looked like black paint decorated the transparent bodice, further contributing to the abstract aesthetic.
Amplituda offers a similar corset top in pink and violet for 600 euros. Cox’s top was paired with a glittering silver miniskirt from David Koma featuring an asymmetrical hemline with dangling twisted fabric. The multi-hyphenate accessorized with vintage jewelry from Mugler.
Cox matched her futuristic apparel to a pair of reptile-embossed silver pumps. The shoes covered the foot along the back and sides while also keeping the toes enclosed with a low-cut vamp. Additional hallmark qualities of a classic pump were present, including a pointed toe and tall heel.
A myriad of brands carry similar styles to Cox’s eye-catching shoes. For example, Michael Kors offers the Amara metallic snake embossed leather pump for $145; and a silver crocodile version of Jimmy Choo’s Love 100 pump can be found on eBay.
Cox is no stranger to the world of high fashion. She recently attended Mugler’s spring 2025 show in Paris wearing the brand’s black Fang mule. The actress also repped Mugler at the premiere of “I Am: Celine Dion” in June, when she slipped on black pumps to round out a vintage ensemble.
Cox offered her opinion on “The Apprentice” on her social media, calling it “a must see.” The film is slated for release on Oct. 11.
