Mary Keitany of Kenya triumphed at the New York City Marathon today for the third consecutive time.

The Adidas athlete ran alone for the last 11 miles when she won the first-place title in a time of 2:24:26 — outpacing fellow Kenyan Sally Kipyego, who came in second place at 2:28:01, and American Molly Huddle, who finished third at 2:28:13.

Keitany is the first woman to win three New York City Marathon titles in a row since Grete Waitz won five consecutive championships from 1982-1986.

It’s the 40th anniversary of the marathon since all five of the Big Apple’s boroughs were included in the race.

Chelsea Clinton took to Twitter to voice support for the marathon — and the race that her mother, Hillary Clinton, hopes to win, too.

“Sad to be missing cheering at the #NYCmarathon this year but excited to be on my way to help #GOTV with @HillaryforPA!” she tweeted on Sunday.

Comedienne and shoe designer Ellen DeGeneres also offered motivational words to the runners. “Good luck to all the people who are running in the #NYCMarathon,” she tweeted. “My Executive Producer @EdGlavin ran last year and had lots of fun.”

Olympian Lolo Jones joked that Daylight Saving Time — when clocks were turned back one hour across the U.S. at 2 a.m. — likely caused some anxiety among the NYC Marathon athletes.

In a video posted on Twitter, she pretended to lose sleep while checking the clock. “An extra hour of sleep had all the runners like… #nycmarathon,” she joked.
