Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan 3 Gets a Colorway Exclusively for This Basketball Tournament

The Jordan Brand Classic high school basketball showcase will be played Friday afternoon in Washington D.C., and just ahead of the whistle has come a look at an exclusive pair of Air Jordans made only for the players.
The Air Jordan 3 “Jordan Brand Classic” continues in the tradition of sneakers made exclusively for the annual showcase. As revealed in images obtained by Sneaker News, the shoe borrows many elements from the fabled “White Cement” colorway. Changes come from the marbled blue mustache, possibly a nod to D.C.’s many marble landmarks, with “Nike Air” branding, as well as lighter blue eyelets. The tongue then hosts Jordan Brand classic branding to round out the flourishes.
With the exception of 2020 and 2021, the Jordan Brand Classic has been held every year since 2002. Carmelo Anthony, Amare Stoudemire Andre Iguodala and JJ Reddick all played in the inaugural showcase, and in today’s game it’s more difficult to find a star who wasn’t chosen for the occasion.

For much of the Jordan Brand Classic’s history, player-exclusive colorways have featured on more contemporary models rather than retros. But shoes in the latter camp include an iridescent Air Jordan 1 Low from 2022 and an Air Jordan 10 with cement like speckling from 2018.
The Air Jordan 3 “Jordan Brand Classic” won’t release to the public, but as time passes a few pairs of the sneaker will likely end up on the resale market. Given that this year’s edition features one of the most iconic Air Jordans, you can expect to pay a premium.
