Camper and Sunnei are teaming up to release the Forone sneaker, uniquely good for either foot.
On Tuesday, the shoe was released in five different colorways: red, beige, green, blue and mustard. Sneakerheads can also customize their shoe (or shoes) to match their mood or the day of the week, with 10 possible color combinations. The concept reinvents the way the public thinks about footwear and will be sold as a single shoe that is 100 percent symmetrical. With no left or right, the Forone can be worn on either foot.
According to a press release, the sneaker is meant for maximum durability as the Forone features a vulcanized rubber outsole that is securely 360° stitched to a breathable 100 percent recycled cotton upper. The memory foam footbed offers superior comfort and smartly remembers the anatomy of the foot. Both brands pride themselves and boast the shoe as being disruptive, provocative, out-of-the-box, and interactive.
The campaign’s slogan of “Due piedi in una scarpa,” or two feet in one shoe, is an Italian saying that served as a starting point for envisioning the Forone campaign. The images in the campaign vary with all different skin tones and are diverse as they embody this expression while reinforcing the one-shoe
concept. The photographs, which embody the ironic spirit of Camper and Sunnei, were taken by Tarek Cassim.
In February, at the Sunnei fall 2024 show, models teased the partnership by wearing shoes concealed under colorful dust bags featuring the text “Sunnei Camper, June 2024.”
The arrival of the Forone will also be celebrated with a special event in Milan during Men’s Fashion Week in June 2024.
The creative idea began at Camper’s headquarters in Mallorca, Spain, where Sunnei’s creative team dove into Camper’s archives and found TRINS, a concept from Camper’s spring 1996 collection that was sold as a pack of three different colored shoes that fit both the left and right foot. The three TRINS could be mixed and matched to create 6 color combinations. Believe it or not, 27 years later, the concept has evolved into where we are today with the Forone, a revamped Camper x Sunnei concept with new design elements.
