To celebrate Dungeons & Dragons’ 50th anniversary, Converse has collaborated with the game on a limited-edition collection.
The collaboration is created from the standpoint of the fans while they are playing the game. Its designs celebrate the players’ ability to create interactions between the heroes and villains. Along with an assortment of apparel, the two brands focused on reimagining the Chuck 70 with first-edition illustrations and graphics from D&D.
The high-top style takes on four new colorways that all include red, black, and white tones, aside from one that features green stitching and handwritten detailing around the Chuck patch. The silhouette features detailing, like scale-textured soles, that recognizes the history of the game. A hexagonal eyelet sits on the top of the lace up closure, paying homage to a famous detailing in the game.
Each piece is customizable with a panel against the lining of the tongue where wearers can write player names and stats.
To add to the personalization of the collection, D&D created custom graphics and colors for the footwear brand’s digital experience Converse by You. Fans will be able to customize their own pair of Chuck Taylor All Stars with shoe detailing inspired by the game.
The first glimpse of the collection will be at Gary Con XVI, an ultimate Dungeons & Dragons fan event. Starting on April 11, the Converse x Dungeons & Dragons collection will be available on the brand’s website and in select retailers worldwide.
Dungeons & Dragons has become one of the world’s most popular roleplaying games. Its iconic challenges and characters have allowed it to be mentioned in hit television series like Netflix’s “Stranger Things.” Stars like Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez brought the characters to life in 2023 with the live action film, “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.”
