Gold medalists Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall are joining Nike‘s track and field roster as the company continues to show support for women athletes as well as adaptive and Paralympic athletes.

The track and field stars, who are also a married couple, stole the spotlight in summer 2024 as they earned gold medals in the Olympics and Paralympics, respectively — and lovingly supported one another along the way, which contributed to their viral fame.

Davis-Woodhall is a long jumper while Woodhall is a sprinter. Davis-Woodhall competed in the Olympics for the second time this past summer in Paris, where she took home her first Olympic gold medal. Prior to this achievement, she also finished in first place at the World Indoor Championships in 2024. In 2023, she earned the national title at the USA Track & Field Championships, which was two years after she set the record for the NCAA women’s long jump.

Nike is more than a sponsor: It’s a partner in creating change for women in sport, turning belief into action through its deep support for athletes, innovative footwear and apparel, and a mission of expanding sport for the next generation,” Davis-Woodhall said in a statement. “I’m always searching for ways to level up my performance and make a lasting impact on the track and field community, and partnering with Nike will help me push my limits while growing and giving back to the sport I love.”

Woodhall, meanwhile, has competed in the Paralympics five times and earned five medals in the competition. He earned his first Paralympic gold medal in Paris in 2024 for the men’s 400-meter T62; he also took home a bronze medal in the 4-by-100-meter universal relay, which featured Nike athletes Tatyana McFadden and Noah Malone. Back in 2020 in Tokyo, he won bronze in the 400-meter T62 and silver in the 200-meter T62. When he competed in Rio in 2016, he took home bronze in the 400-meter T62.

“One of the things that immediately attracted me to Nike is a shared mindset rooted in the idea that better is never good enough,” Woodhall said in statement. “At Nike, and in running, there’s a never-ending pursuit of trial, progress and innovation — and I’m inspired by the prospect of what we can create together, both to help me improve my performance and to serve athletes worldwide.”

Nike showed support for women athletes in a Super Bowl advertisement — its first in nearly 30 years — earlier this year, with Caitlin Clark, A’ja Wilson, Sabrina Ionescu, Jordan Chiles, Sha’Carri Richardson and Aryna Sabalenka featured. The aforementioned Paralympic athlete Tatyana McFadden was featured in a 2023 Dick’s Sporting Goods and Nike campaign called “Sports Change Lives,” which also included A’ja Wilson, Alex Morgan, Athing Mu and Sabrina Ionescu.
