Exclusive: Aldo Goes to Miami in Spring 2024 Campaign Highlighting Pillow Walk Technology

Aldo is enjoying a bit of the “joie-de-vivre” lifestyle. For its spring 2024 ad campaign shot in Miami, the Montreal-based global footwear brand looked to some of life’s more joyful moments.
The three-part campaign, which will roll out through February, March and April, was shot by Remi Farrante. It will run online, in-store and on social.
“This campaign is truly a visual journey that celebrates a vibrant social lifestyle, the rituals of dressing up, experimenting with style and going out with friends,” Aldo chief brand and product officer Daianara Grullon Amalfitano told FN, adding, “Our Spring 2024 collection is the epitome of glamours and sexy, exuding an effortless confidence and playfulness — an energy that is rooted in our brand ethos. We chose to shoot in Miami because its inherent nature and culture mirrors that energy and aesthetic.”
Aldo’s spring 2024 collection includes styles featuring the brand’s proprietary Pillow Walk technology, first unveiled in 2022. According to Amalfitano, the technology features a “pillowy sock foam and sturdy outsole” and is present in about 75% of the brand’s men’s and women’s footwear assortment.

In the campaign images of the collection, models appear riding on a Vespa as well as meeting up for a rendez-vous. Other images see the brand’s footwear appearing larger-than-life, dwarfing the size of cars and buildings that surround it.
“We took the same more-is-more approach to this campaign as we did when designing the collection,” Amalfitano said. “The collection is lively, playful, and attention grabbings, so when conceptualizing the campaign, we wanted to take this to another level. We knew that shooting in a real environment versus a studio, while overlaying technical and trending treatments that glorify the product such as surrealism via CGI would allow us to connect and grab their attention.”
Styled by Cary Tauben, the campaign also features a video directed by Steven Brahms.
Last year, Aldo’s year was marked by collaborations with the likes of Disney as well as Barbie.
