Women’s workwear label Argent is entering the footwear market for the first time through a limited-edition collaboration with Margaux. The female-founded brands have teamed up to create a spring footwear capsule collection featuring three silhouettes, available on May 1.
Argent founder Sali Christeson and Margaux cofounders Alexa Roussel and Sarah Pierson trace their friendship back to the early days of launching their own companies, which were respectively founded in 2016 and 2015. They have a common goal of crafting clothing and accessories that empower women to go about their lives with ease and confidence.
The warm weather-friendly footwear collection makes use of earth tones and offers shoe styles that can blend with a variety of outfits. Options include the Positano sandal, the Phoebe ballet flat and the Astor loafer mule. The $325 Positano is a strappy flat in an espresso shade; the $355 Phoebe reinterprets a popular Margaux ballet flat with embossed python; and the $295 Astor is a backless style crafted with bone nappa.
“Alexa and Sarah have been friends and trusted confidants throughout the Argent journey,” said Christeson, “and it’s an honor to offer our customers footwear options crafted with Margaux’s expertise, quality, comfort and style. They are the perfect way to complete an Argent outfit.”
“We loved the idea of playing with the notion of workwear,” said Pierson, who helms Margaux’s product and design team. “Working with Argent has been a great opportunity to design a silhouette like the loafer mule that we wouldn’t have otherwise created in the Margaux universe.”
“Both of our brands have always shared a deep understanding of who our customer is,” said Roussel. “We’re designing for a multifaceted woman. Margaux creates products that are meant to take her through her everyday life—comfortably, confidently, in a way where she feels dressed, but that she can still do it all. That’s what we hope people see with this collection.”
The new shoes are available online in addition to Margaux’s Los Angeles store located at Platform in Culver City and Argent locations in New York City’s Soho, Upper East Side, and the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C.
New to footwear, but no stranger to teaming with other brands, Argent recently revealed a collaboration with Citizens of Humanity.
